Here at Antony Kellow Kitchens we would like to explain some of our manufacturing materials. We believe that this material set us aside from other kitchen and furniture manufacturers and truly add a personal touch to our bespoke furniture.

Each one of our kitchens is individual as we can add our customer’s preferences to each individual kitchen, such as a choice of carcase material. Below is a simple explanation of our build materials.

The face frames are of the in frame design, we do not supply face on doors. All our doors are hung traditionally on 65mm butt hinges in chrome, satin chrome, brass, black or stainless steel. All face frames are made from the hard wood, depending on customers preference and if painted - poplar.

The doors are made from solid timber if hardwood with either solid panels if raised and fielded panels are required or a 6mm veneered board if shaker style is required. All doors and face frames and end panels are sprayed with 30 percent sheen polyurethane varnish, the sheen can be changed.

All doors made for a painted kitchen are made from 22mm moisture resistant board  and will be primed and spray finished in acid cat paint or hand painted if required. The carcases are made from sold 19mm  real wood veneered boards with full height backs, these can be made from ash, maple, oak, American black walnut, cherry and mahogany, these carcases are finished in 30 percent sheen polyurethane varnish which is spray applied. All shelf fittings are kept to a minimum and are discreet 7.5mm chrome or brass shelf brackets and chrome or brass high quality magnetic catches. The drawers are made from solid hard wood and would usually match the carcases but this can be changed to meet the customer’s requirements, for example a black walnut contemporary kitchen looks better with a light drawer -ash, oak or maple.

The drawer bases are made from real wood veneered boards with a matching melamine insert this is used due to it s strength and durability, all the drawers are run of 30kg soft close runners.

Here at Antony Kellow Kitchens we manufacture every component of our cabinetry (excluding chrome baskets, pull out fittings etc) and we machine all our doors and face frames from sawn timber we do not import carcases or doors and we do not sub contract any of our joinery out.
